We aim to cater for the needs of visitors who require accessible disabled facilities at Hotel Claytou. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

The nearest train station is Blackpool North Train Station and is one mile away.
There are taxi service’s that have accessible taxis if required.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

On arrival to the property there is parking on the public road that runs in front of the hotel. There are many public streets surrounding the hotel that do not require a permit to park.
There is a Council operated car park named Gynn Square. This car park is a five minute walk on a declining flat surface when walking from the hotel to the car park. The car park offers paid long stays and concessionary three hour stay with a valid displayed blue badge. There is a gated 14cm high step at the beginning of the property, followed by a flat slightly inclined path.
There is two slabbed steps to the right to access the guest patio area, where there is moveable garden chairs with arms.
There is two steps 16cm’s high each and a high doorway threshold (creating a third step of 16cm), there is a handrail to the right.
The door will be locked at all times. The doorbell to gain access is on the left or the door. At check in you will be given a key to gain access without needing to ring the doorbell. This door is the only guest entrance and exit.
The entrance is tiled.
We can assist guests with any luggage.

Guest Sun Lounge & Entrance Hallway

There is one single fire door 73cm wide, which will be unlocked from 8am until 9pm for guest access to the guest sun lounge.
The guest sun lounge is flat and the flooring is vinyl.
The guest sun lounge has seating, the chairs have arms in the lounge area.
The entrance hall is initially a tiled surface and level. It then changes to carpet, and there is a small carpeted step up 12cm high, into a second single glass fire door doorway 73cm wide, which will also be locked. Your one key will also open this door as well as the front door and your room door.
The rest of the hallway is carpeted and leads you to the stairs leading up to the first and second floor guest accommodation. There is no ground floor guest accommodation. All ground floor rooms excluding the sun room and hallways are accessed by authorised staff only.

Public Areas – Stairs

Our stairs are steep, narrow, carpeted and have one handrail.
Corridors are well lit and have a good colour contrast between floor and walls.
The flooring on all stairs and corridors is short pile carpet.
There are thirteen steps on the first set of stairs, each step is 19cm high.
There are two steps on the second set of stairs, each step is 19cm high, and leads to a glass fire door (70cm wide) leading to the first floor corridor of guest rooms. There are three guest rooms on this floor.
To access the first floor accommodation you need to go up two sets of stairs, 15 steps in total.
There are three steps on the third set of stairs, they are 19cm high. This leads you to two guest rooms, and a continued hallway with a motion sensor ceiling light, leading up to another staircase.
There are eleven steps on the fourth set of stairs, each step is 19cm high.
There are three steps on the fifth set of stairs, each step is 19cm high and leads to a glass fire door (70cm wide) leading to two guest bedrooms.
There are four steps on the sixth set of stairs, each step is 19cm high. The stairs lead to a glass fire door (68cm wide) leading to two guest rooms.
From the front of the property to the nearest guest room on the first floor, there are 20 steps to ascend.
From the front of the property to the furthest guest room on the second floor, there are 36 steps to ascend.
All of our guest accommodation requires ascending a minimum of 20 steps and a maximum of 36 steps.

In-room breakfast

All food and drink we provide is individually pre-packed and purchased from stores.
We do not prepare or cook food on site.
The allergen information on the manufacturers packaging should always be checked carefully.
We regret we cannot guarantee that any item is free from allergens. This is because we rely on the labelling provided by the manufacturers and cannot control the production or packaging process.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to us before consuming any product.

Bedrooms

There are no guest bedrooms on the ground floor.
There are five guest bedrooms on the first floor, consisting of; Standard Doubles, one Deluxe Double and one Double Suite with side sea view.
There are four guest bedrooms on the second floor, consisting of; Standard Doubles and Quadruple Interconnecting rooms.
The guest room’s door entrance width is 70cm.
The rooms have fitted carpet in the rooms.
One chair is provided in the room in a standard double, two chairs in the deluxe double, double suite and quadruple rooms.
The quadruple interconnecting rooms share one en-suite
The quadruple interconnecting rooms have a standard fire door to separate the two rooms 70cm width.
Flat screen SMART television with text optional and remote control.
There is an en-suite wet room (see details below)
There is wall hung clothes rails in all rooms except for the double suite which has a built in double wardrobe.
There is a mini fridge in the deluxe double and double suite.
There is one open top lined waste bin in each room, and two in the quadruple rooms.
There is one kettle per room and two in the quadruple rooms, and one cup per guest.
There is one hairdryer per room
There is one towel per guest
The duvets are coverless, and each bed has pillow and mattress protectors, fitted mattress sheet, two pillows and cases.
Ear plugs are provided per guest in the room
All curtains are blackout
All rooms are non-smoking and no pets.
En Suite Wet Room
Door width 70cms width louvre doors opening outwards in all rooms, excluding double suite which has a standard door (70cms width).
Each en-suite has a shower, toilet and sink.
Each En-suite has vinyl flooring except the double suite which is tiled.
Grounds and Gardens
We have a small garden patio area which is accessible from the front. It has two steps, slabbed patio, shrub borders, garden chairs, garden rug, and garden ornaments.

Additional Information

Mobile phone reception is generally good depending on network.
Free wifi is provided for guests.
We are a no smoking establishment, but you may smoke on the patio at the front.
The fire alarm system is audio only.
We want all of our guests to have a safe stay with us. We welcome guests with a wide range of needs and will do our best to discuss individual requirements in advance of a stay. Due to the layout of the building and the limitations of our property, some aspects may not be suitable for everyone. We encourage guests with accessibility needs to contact us before booking, so that we can advise you of our provision and answer any questions, helping you to determine whether our accommodation meets your requirements.
